In winter, Hemsedal is a lot about alpine skiing. At Skigaarden you step straight into your skis right outside the door, and in the summer season you simply mount your bike or lace up your hiking shoes to explore the mountain surrounding us.
However, we have so much more to offer in Hemsedal, both in the winter and in the summer. Below you will find a description of some of the various activities we offer, and should you not find your dream on the list, just reach out and we will try to accomodate your request.

In addition to these great outdoor experiences in the beautiful surroundings of Skigaarden, we offer private tastings in our rewarded wine cellar, an Omakase experience or we can serve your dinner in your lodging. Dog sledding is a unique way to experience the wilderness and the beautiful nature in Hemsedal.
From the moment you are safely placed in the sled, you can feel the eager and enthusiasm with the dogs, getting ready to run and to explore.
Dog sledding is possible all year around in Hemsedal. In the winter with sledges and in the summer by wheels.
We offer both tours that lasts for a couple of hours, but can also arrange overnight stays with the dogs.
There will always be handlers and guides with you and you don’t need any experience to join this adventure – only warm clothing in the winter!

With its unique location in the Scandinavian Alps, Skigaarden is a perfect location for off-piste and backcountry skiing.
To make the most of a day in the backcountry, we recommend booking a guide who knows the conditions, understands avalanche risk and brings deep local knowledge to the tour.
In addition to skitouring, Hemsedal is one of Norway`s best ski resorts for lift-based off-piste skiing.
We only book internationaly certified guides (IFMGA/UIAGM/IVBV).
In addition to booking guides, we can also be of help to ski and avalanche equipment rental.

In Hemsedal we have an extensive web of cross-country tracks, and of course Skigaarden is located just at the beginning of some of these.
Go by yourself or book an instructor to get a good grip of it. We offer private lessons or guides for smaller and bigger groups.
